The Qigong Hip Tuck- Reclined Postures

Ah yes the ever-loving hip tuck visits us again in another position.

Reclined Qigong postures require the hip tuck (roll) just as much as the standing postures do.  Actually the reclined hip tuck is the “secret” to many abdominal exercise devices because when you get in this position it strongly activated the lower abs.  But I figure  - If you can get the same result without the equipment then why not?

The key is to roll your sacrum off the floor, and roll the mid back off the floor as well and if you can gently pull your lower stomach in towards your spine (like sucking the gut in – but with more concentration – and not for the purpose of getting your tight jeans on)

I put a exercise mat on the floor to basically suggest that you may want to use one rather than rolling on a hard floor, but if you like the feeling of wood on your back like I do…… then go for it!
