Inner Hip Stretch

Adductors

The inner hip pertains to the inner thigh and the inner region of the hip – also commonly known as “the groin region”.

Tightness on the inside hip can strongly affect the mobility of your legs and pelvis, which can also lead to lower back stiffness and pain.

The muscle groups of the inner hip are primarily the Adductors and Psoas, however this particular stretch sequence also addresses the Hamstrings to some extent.

This video shows several variations of the Inside Hip Stretch.  If you are not too flexible, then perform these stretches gradually.  I put in a few intermediate steps for stretching to help you out – (keep in mind that when performing any stretch you should warm up sufficiently).

(Just in case you actually want to do a warm up here is a Qigong warm up routine from a previous post)

Matthew, thank you, this is a really helpful video. There is lots of good information here, more than I think I have ever gotten about the inner hip stretch. Thanks for including so many tips for people such as myself who are somewhat more flexibility challenged than you are :)
