Qigong Strength Training – The Prone Position

Out of all of the forms of Qigong, I feel that Qigong strength training is the least popular.  Im not sure why, but seldom do I see it in the mainstream.  Perhaps the initial instinct is that qigong is exclusively used as gentle breathing exercises.

True this is an important type of Qigong training for sure, however it is only a piece of the whole.  The goal of Qigong is to connect to all aspects of our selves – the breath, metabolism, posture, mental development, spiritual cultivation, efficiency of movement and the of course strength training.

A fit strong body means strong energy (this does not mean that you have to develop massive muscles, but that it is a good idea to pay attention to it).  This video (been on youtube for a while) is a good example of Qigong Strength training – (it may be a little intense – so you may want to take it easy)
