Daoyin 1Each category represent different facets of Qigong:

Health- in Qigong refers to ones vitality, ability to function,  metabolic activity, and mental / psychological balance.  In general every Qigong exercise is related to health, however some are more directly related than others.  (IE: postures, breathing exercises, therapeutic exercises and stretching)

Metaphysical – Qigonghas an intimate relationship between the connection of the mind, emotions and the body.  Meditation, Mindfulness and Imagery  serves to engage us in to deeper states of awareness and control of our selves.

Qigong Postures- Qigong postures are the raw static positions that comprise the shape and form of Qigong Exercise.  Postures (also known as stances, positions and poses) train the body to be balanced and sturdy by gradually adjusting he hips and spine and strengthening up the core muscles

daoyin 3Qigong Physiology-pertains to the inner workings of Qigong and it’s view and understanding of the body.  The information here will contain modern anatomy as it relates to Qigong, Qigong energetics and Qigong Functional systems

Qigong Tips- is any information that regards how to do Qigong or some special points  that can help better your understanding and practice of Qigong.

Qigong Strength Training- includes information and exercises regarding the development of the muscles and tendons, bones and ligaments.  Ones physical strength and fitness directly relates to the level of vitality and energy, thus the adage – Strong Body = Strong Qi.  Qigong Strength Training is most commonly a combination of Qigong postures, muscle and tendon Qigong and Nei Gong.

daoyin 2Qigong Stretching- involves exercises and postures that are designed to lengthen Tendons, reduce muscle adhesions and create space in the joint cavities.  This has the effect of enhancing muscle repair and reducing pain.

Qigong Therapeutic Exercise- are Qigong  exercises specifically designed to repair an injured area,  improve circulation, or regulate the metabolism.  The exercises may be for general maintenance or focused on a specific body part.
